Karachi: The fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is just around the corner and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is making sure to make this edition bigger and better with bringing it back completely at home.
Meanwhile, the outfield at the National Stadium Karachi (NSK) has been made of top-class. The light and dark green theme make NSK look quite astonishing. The groundsmen have worked really hard to make this ground look alike the one in Europe, Australia, England or South Africa.
According to NSK’s chief curator Riaz Ahmed, they have been directed to make this ground look different. They have worked really hard to complete the outfield work in the stadium.
“We have been working to make this lush green outfield for days now. These zebra lines look is hard to maintain. We have done this with accurate calculations,” he said.
On the other hand, other preparations are in full swing at the stadium which is one of the four destinations to host the PSL 5 matches. Maintenance work in the stands and other areas at the stadium is also underway.
It must be noted here that four franchises including Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United will start reaching Karachi by February 15. Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans will come after playing their matches against Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).
The mega event will commence from February 20 with an opening ceremony at National Stadium followed by a one-off contest between reigning champion Quetta Gladiators and two-time PSL champion Islamabad United.
