Pakistan’s female badminton player, Mahoor Shazad on Thursday beat Fiorella Marie Sadowski by 2-1 to start the Dubai International championship on a high note.
The 22-years-old, Mahoor outclassed her counterpart in the first round winning it by 21-3 which put immense pressure on Sadowski who looked a bit shaky in the first set.
Mahoor finished the second round on the score of 21-9 to seal her first victory of the tournament. She will now play Russia’s contestant in her second match of the event.
Mahoor eyes on the title triumph to further improve her ranking in the international roster. It is pertinent to mention here that she is the first Pakistani female badminton player to reach among top 200 players in international rankings.
Earlier this year, Mahoor Shahzad clinched the Annapurna Corporate Invitational International Badminton Tournament Championships in Nepal. She also participated in the 2014 Asian Games and 2010 Commonwealth Games.
