Shoaib Malik has reacted to the poor exhibition of Karachi Kings’ performance, he has handed over the captaincy band to Ravi Bopara.
Ravi Bopara is currently the second highest wicket-taker as well as the second highest run scorer of the tournament. Whereas, Shoaib Malik hasn’t been able to put up a decent show throughout the tournament. Malik has tried different batting positions in the lineup, but, he couldn’t perform well.
Shoaib Malik has said, “I would like to hand over the captaincy to Ravi Bopara and play the rest of the tournament as a player.”
Shoaib Malik told ARY Newsl in an exclusive interview that before taking this decision, he talked to the team management and has taken them in confidence.
He further added, “I never play for myself, I always play for the team, I will try to give my best for Karachi Kings and win the rest of the matches for the team”
Yesterday, Ravi Bopara denied all the news related to his criticism on Shoaib Malik’s captaincy and he claimed that the atmosphere of Karachi Kings dressing room is extremely healthy and friendly.
Karachi Kings has to take on Islamabad United tomorrow in the second game of the playoff. The winner of that match will face the loser of the match between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi to book a berth in the final of the tournament.
