The chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Ehsan Mani excused to the national hockey team head coach Tauqeer Dar for providing financial support to the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF).
Dar contacted Mani on Wednesday to seek his help for solving financial issues running in the hockey federation.
Mani, who is also the head of PM’s formed task force committee for sports, assured Dar to raise discuss their issue with Imran Khan.
“Being head of the task force, I will raise PHF’s issue in front of the PM,” said Mani.
Dar appealed the government to release funds for the federation so that they can easily participate in the upcoming world cup starting from November 28 in India.
“Government may give the allowances directly to the players,” he said to Mani.
Former Olympian said that Pakistan’s participation in the world cup is so important but lack of funds is creating a lot of problems for them.
Earlier, Pakistan hockey team training camp ahead of the world cup was also delayed due to lack of funds.
