The Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Ehsan Mani said that he will meet Pakistan’s team management to discuss the performance of the team in recently concluded Asia Cup.
Entering the Asia Cup as favourites, Pakistan lost to Bangladesh by 37-runs to end their Asia Cup journey in a disappointing way.
Their two back to back defeats against arch-rivals India showed that the team was under serious pressure.
Ehsan while talking to the leading newspaper, said that when any team gets out of form then all the things go against them and the same happened with the Pakistan team.
He said that the same team had achieved so much for the country so judging them from one bad performance would be injustice with them.
“Yes I know they were not up to the mark even against underdogs but we need to give them some time to get back in form,” he said.
Mr Chairman also backed Sarfraz Ahmed calling him the best possible choice to lead the team at this point of time.
“Sarfraz is a man with good presence of mind as captain and I don’t have any plans to remove him,” he Mani said.
It is pertinent to mention here that Mani is still in Dubai where he had led the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting.
Mani is also expected to have a meeting with the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) dispute committee to discuss over Pakistan’s case against India.
