RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s squash sensation Maria Toorpakai Wazir defeated South Africa’s Siyoli Waters to clinch the second Bahria Town International Squash Championship, ARYSports.tv reports.
Maria Toorpakai Wazir emerged victorious is a nerve-wrecking 46 minute match as she won three out of five games.
She won the first two games 11-9 and 11-7 but Waters made a comeback in the final and clinched the third and fourth game 6-11 and 10-12.
However, Wazir held her nerve and won the final set 12-10 to clinch the title and cash prize of $10,000.
The prizes to the winner and runner up were given by Acting Vice Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Saeed Muhammad Khan.
