Pakistan U19 tam’s captain Rohail Nazir is looking forward to leading the side by strength to strength in the upcoming ACC U19 Asia Cup, slated to start from September 5 in Sri Lanka.
“We are not focusing on any one particularly. Our match against India is just another game. Afghanistan is our first target and we will try to proceed by strength to strength,” Nazir said while talking to the ARY Sports at National Stadium Karachi (NSK).
The captain of the junior team highlighted that the team is gelled up and is confident to clinch strong results in the mega event. “Our combination is good. The boys are playing together for the last five to six months which has given them ample exposure,” he maintained.
Talking about the conditions in Sri Lanka, where they last clinched on ODI series by 3-2 against the home side, Nazir said that they will try to adjust in the conditions as soon as possible.
“We have worked hard in the training camp at NSK. The coaches have prepared us according to the situation. We have played practice matches on the pitches similar to those in Sri Lanka,” he said.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan team will leave for Sri Lanka on September 3. They are placed in Group A along with India, Afghanistan, and Kuwait. The Group B of the tournament includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, UAE, and Nepal.
