Melbourne: History has been created as the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) has witnessed a record attendance in a women’s cricket match globally.
86,174 people watched the historic Women’s T20 World Cup final between India and Australia. It is the highest for a women’s sporting event in Australia ever.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) thanked the fans for making this record on the eve of International Women’s Day.

It must be noted that ICC urged the people to break the record attendance at women sporting fixtures at the world’s largest cricket stadium, MCG, however, it didn’t happen.
It must be noted that Australia defeated India in the final by 85 runs, winning the title for the fifth time.
