Bangladesh’s young off-spinner Mehidy Hasan is optimistic to clinch ODI series against Windies as they went through in the series-decider, to be played in Sylhet on Friday.
After the Maroon army pulled off a convincing five wickets victory, Bangladesh is feeling a bit pressure to face the dangerous looking side of the Windies in the decider of the series.
Hasan said that they will try to continue the winning streak against the Windies as they impressively won the ODI series on their home soil back in July.
Bangladesh woke up aggressively after they were down 0-1 and clinched the series 2-1 to make everyone surprised.
“We do have the memories of the last series win against them. We will try to have an influential last game against them,” he said.
It is pertinent to mention here that Bangladesh were 255-7 after playing 50 overs. They were on track after reducing the visitors to 157/5 in their chase. But Shai Hope took the match away from them smashing 146 runs off 144 balls to left the series result pending.
“It was a great start for us in the match and it was almost a win for us but unfortunately the things turned around,” said Mehidy who said that they will try to get rid of Hope in the coming clash.
Bangladesh’s skipper Mashrafe Mortaza coined poor fielding as the reason behind their loss against Windies. He said “Fielding is the main concern for us as we dropped a few catches which put hurdles in our way to victory. But I think it is the part of the game and we will try to not repeat our mistakes from the last match,”
