KARACHI: Danish Aziz shone for Saima Group as he scored blistering 47 runs off 31 deliveries with the help of five 4’s and two 6’s to help his team reach a total of 161/8 runs.

Saima Group won the toss and elected to bat in the final of ‘Karachi Ke Shehzade’ tournament.

Hamza Ghanchi and Jahanzaib Sultan opened the batting for Saima Group and scored 39 runs together before Hamza fell after scoring27 runs off 22 balls.

Danish Aziz walked to the crease to start a partnership with Jahanzaib. Danish remained the aggressor in their 30-run partnership. Jahanzaib struck 22 runs on 25 balls with the help of a six and a four.

Saima Group’s captain Fahaddis Bukhari replaced Jahanzaib and he looked to accelerate the scoring rate straightaway. He struck three sixes in his brief stay; he scored 19 runs on 6 balls.

Well settled Danish Aziz joined his captain soon after his dismissal in the dugout as he got out in the next over.

Saima Group were 134/4 in 16.4 overs, but could not utilize the last few overs as all their batsmen lost their way while trying to play some shots.

Saima Group reached 162/8 in their quota of 20 overs. At a stage, it looked like they will reach 170 runs easily.

Jam saifullah remained the pick of the bowler with 3 wickets to his name. Ashar Qureshi took two wickets but he leaked 27 runs in two overs with economy rate of 13.5. Mehran Spices’ captain Ammad Alam, Zafar Ali, and Rehman Ghani picked one wicket apiece.
