Sri Lanka’s Mendis, Dickwella breach bio-bubble in England, video goes viral

London: Two Sri Lanka’s cricketers Kusal Mendis and Niroshan Dickwella have breached the team’s bio-bubble in England after a video emerged on Twitter showing both of them in a public place.

Sri Lanka is currently in the UK to play three T20Is and as many ODIs. The visitors were outclassed in the T20I series while first ODI of the series is set to be played on June 29.

Sri Lanka manager Manuja Kariyapperuma told ESPNcricinfo that the team management would initiate an investigation but could not confirm whether a breach had actually taken place.

The area where Mendis and Dickwella were seen in the video, does not appear to be in the vicinity of the team hotel in Durham, Kariyapperuma said.

Both of them are likely to go in isolation and won’t be available for the first two ODIs of the three-match series, at least.

It must be noted that Sri Lanka are having a bad time in England. They have already received criticism from country’s cricket fraternity and the public for their performances and now face questions over their behaviour off it as well.
