Leicester City were crowned EPL champions after the Spurs drew at Chelsea although they were winning the match by 2-0 at one stage of the match. Leicester have won the championship for the first time in the 132 years of English Premier League.
Barcelona star Lionel Messi appreciated the rise of Leicester and was quoted as saying by stuff.co.nz as “The reason why we all love football. Congratulations.” said Messi.
Former Spurs player Gareth Bale also congratulated the Leicester City on a historic Premier League title but he added that he was gutted for his former side.

Ex-Leicester and England striker Gary Lineker said: “Leicester City have won the Premier League. The biggest sporting shock of my lifetime, and it’s only my team.”
Chelsea staged a good comeback after going down 2-0 and their captain John Terry said that Leicester winning the title is a unbelievable to say the least.
“All season long people kept saying they’ll lose the next one, lose the next one but they kept winning and churning out results,” said Chelsea skipper John Terry after the outgoing champions’ fightback from 2-0 down ended Spurs’ hopes.
“To do what they’ve done this year has been unbelievable and given hope to the smaller teams.” added Terry.
