Pakistan’s legendary batsman and former captain, Javed Miandad has pointed out the lack of game plans of Mickey Arthur for different match situations.
Talking to APP, Miandad told that Mickey Arthur needs to understand the mentality of Pakistani players as it is different from the rest of the world.
“Don’t force your stuff on players, train them the way they want and understand; and better results would come,” Miandad said. He said the coach must have four to five different plans in mind.
There were high expectations from Pakistan as they toured New Zealand with an impressive winning streak in ODI cricket, but they were whitewashed in the five-match series. However, they made a comeback in the T20I series and won it 2-1 to reclaim the top spot in T20I ranking.
Miandad, as he always have, emphasized on the importance of rotation of strikes rather than going after bowlers.
“Our top five batsmen must focus on taking singles and doubles instead of hitting poor shots and going back to the pavilion,” he added.
