Mighty Warner inspires Australia to whitewash Sri Lanka 3-0 in T20I series


Left-handed opener David Warner once sailed Australia as they beat Sri Lanka by seven wickets in third and last T20I to win the series 3-0.

Warner scored 57 runs off 50 balls after Aussies were set to chase 143 runs in 20 overs. His magnificent inning include four boundaries and a six.

Earlier, while batting first, Sri Lanka scored 142-6 in 20 overs. Kusal Perera made 57 runs off 45 balls with the help of four boundaries and a six.

Mitchel Starc, Kane Richardson and Pat Cummins bagged two wickets each for Australia.

In reply, Aaron Finch and Warner provided a solid 69-run opening stand to their team in front of a easily chase able target. Finch threw his wicket to after scoring 37 but Warner kept going.

Ashton Turner made 15-ball 22 runs and partnered with already set Warner to score another match-winning partnership of 44 runs.

Lasith Malinga, Lahiru Kumara and Nuwan Pradeep shared a wicket piece.

Warner has been named player of the series for scoring runs consistently. He scored 237 runs in three matches including a ton.
