Mirza and Hingis look to seal 5th title of the season at Madrid

The final of the Mutua Madrid Open will be played today between the Indo-Swiss pair of  Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza and C. Garcia and K. Mladenovic.

The top seeds Mirza and Hingis defeated Vania King and Alla Kudryavtseva in a crushing win of 6-2 and 6-0. The final on Saturday will be the second consecutive final for the pair as they also ended runner up at Stuttgart.

The top seeds did not allow their opponents to settle into the match at any point during the entire semi-final which resulted in this easy victory. Their opponents in the final, Garcia and Mladenovic, defeated Elena Vesnina and Ekaterina Makarova 6-2, 6-3 in the other semifinal.

Sania and Martina have already won titles in Sydeny, Brisbane, Australian Open and St Petersburg this season and a win today will hand them their 5th title this season. Mirza and Hingis are yet to drop a set in this year’s Madrid masters which is another demonstration of their dominance and will most definitely earn them the tag of favorites for this match.
