Lahore: Head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and Test captain Azhar Ali have been summoned next week over their uninformed meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan regarding the restoration of departmental cricket, ARY Sports reported.
Misbah, Azhar and Mohammad Hafeez met PM Khan without informing the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Hafeez is not centrally contracted, therefore PCB decided not to question him.
Both individuals will meet PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan on Wednesday or Thursday and will present their stand.
It must be noted that the meeting was scheduled to take place last week but due to the busy schedule of the chief executive, it couldn’t happen.
Chairman PCB Ehsan Mani last week while interacting with the media after the National Assembly Public Accounts Committee (PAC) meeting in Islamabad said, “The matter has already been referred to the disciplinary committee and action will be taken.”
