Former Pakistan’s captain, Wasim Akram has praised Misbah Ul Haq for his services to Pakistan cricket and he believes that he will be always remembered as a great ambassador of the country.
Misbah Ul Haq took over Test captaincy at a difficult time when Pakistan’s image was tainted by the spot fixing scandal in 2010 and the team was struggling.
In the span of six years, he became country’s most successful Test skipper, he steered the team to top position in ICC test ranking in 2016.
The Sultan of Swing praised Misbah for leaving a strong Test team behind him.
Wasim Akram further stated that there are very few people who has such deep understanding of the game as Misbah Ul Haq has.
Earlier today, Misbah Ul Haq formally announced his retirement and told that Test series against West Indies will be his last international assignment.
