Pakistan team’s head coach-cum-chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq is looking forward to a successful Test series against Australia, starting from November 21.
Misbah, in a video interview released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), said that their Test team contains a strong batting line and they are confident to give a tough time to the Aussies at their backyard.
“I think our test team is well balanced. Our batting looks quite settled especially Asad Shafiq and Azhar Ali will be our key assets for the series. They have already scored runs in these conditions and I hope they will lead from the front,” he said.
The former cricketer has a firm belief in the young bowling attack of the Test team which includes 16-years-old Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Musa Khan. Yasir Shah would be a keen option for them with his variety in leg-spin bowling.
“We have opted for a young bowling attack in Test team because we eye our future. Naseem is bowling quite well with red-ball. Shaheen is yet another young energetic pacer which has the ability to bowl strongly,” he highlighted.
Talking about the team’s dismal performance in T20Is, Misbah said that things are gradually marching towards improvement. “When you bring changes to something, you face difficulties. We are planning things in the long run. We will set our priorities as T20 World Cups are ahead,” he said.
It must be noted here that Pakistan and Australia will play the two-match Test series from November 21 to December 3.
