Peshawar Zalmi’s left-handed batsman Umar Amin praised experienced batsmen Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan as their presence in Zalmi’s dressing room is predominant.
“If you ask me about Misbah and Younis then I must say that they are very kind to me and always make show their presence in the dressing room,” Said Umar who spent quality time with Younis in the nets which helped him a lot to groom his techniques.
The left-handed young batsman said that almost all youngsters in Zalmi’s squad admire both the veteran batsmen as their role model and learn from them as they achieved a lot for Pakistan at the International stage.
“Not only me but every player in our squad make the most of their [Misbah, Younis] presence in our team,” said Umar.
The 29-year-old batsman, who played a crucial inning of 61 runs for Zalmi against Qalandars this season, believes in his team’s potential to clinch matches in knock-out stages.
“Zalmi are strong enough and have qualities to turn things for them on last moments,” said Umar who is confident that his team will make a strong comeback after losing to Quetta Gladiators in the first qualifier of this year’s PSL.
Umar thanked the astounding crowd of Karachi who turned up to the stadium to support cricket and made the last stage of the PSL bigger and better. “I would like to thank Karachiite who showed immense support to the revival of cricket in Pakistan,” said Umar.
The young batting sensation always focuses on his performance whenever gets the opportunity. He was quick to add that he tried to avail all the chances in this episode of the league. “My duty is to perform strongly for my team whether it is PSL or national assignment,” he said.
It is pertinent to mention here that Umar has so far scored 151 runs at an average of 37.75 in 7 innings.
