KARACHI: The Third Generation Mixed Martial Arts Centre (3GMMA), in collaboration with players and coaches of National Grappling Camp, organised an event to honour MMA fighters, ONE FC champion Ahmed ‘Wolverine’ Mujtaba and World Grappling Championship’s silver medallist Ovais Shah at their headquarters here on Wednesday.
Sindh Olympic Association’s Ahmed Ali Rajput, Karachi Muay Thai’s Gohar Gul, Sindh Judo Association’s Abdur Rahim and Nadeem, and international boxer Nasir Khaleeq were invited as special guests for the event.
They praised Shah and Mujtaba for their outstanding performances.
Shah and Mujtaba also spent time with the players of National Grappling Camp, sharing their experiences and a few tips on MMA, Jiu-jitsu and Grappling.
The Quetta-born Mujtaba told the aspiring fighters to stick to what their coaches say. He was of the view that coaches in Pakistan have all the required skills and techniques that is needed to excel in the sport.
Earlier this month, Pakistan’s prominent MMA fighter Mujtaba, alias ‘Wolverine’, successfully defended his unbeaten streak in the featherweight category, registering his eighth straight win.
Mujtaba fought Singapore’s Benedict Ang in his debut bout of ONE Championship in Singapore, defeating him with an unanimous decision.
