England’s off-spinner, Moen Ali credited Pakistani legend and his mentor Saqlain Mushtaq for helping him to improve his bowling techniques and make him more appealing with the bowl.
Moeen who single-handedly won the fourth Test match for England against India bagging nine wickets haul said during the post-match ceremony that its an honour for him to get Saqlain’s expertise as a bowler and he is delighted to have worked with him.
Moeen further said that he worked really hard to get his bowling into the right position.
“I’ve worked on my bowling grip for a while, took a lot of confidence from bowling in county cricket, working with Saqlain.”
In return, former Pakistan’s Test cricketer had a word for him via his tweet praising his ability and spirit that took him high.
“Many congratulations to everyone at England Cricket. Very Proud of you all the way you played. Moeen Ali extremely happy with your performance. Once you believe it you can achieve it,” he tweeted.

Last year in August, Moeen after taking 25 wickets in a Test series against South Africa, had praised former Pakistani spinner for all the support which improvise his bowling skills.
“Saqqy’ is the one I am having as my mentor, he understands my bowling a lot more than myself and had always tried to let me do different experiments with the bowl,” Moeen said.
Moen represented England in 51 Test matches taking 142 wickets with an economy of 3.62.
