Moen Ali named in England training group for West Indies series

Manchester: All-rounder Moeen Ali made his place in England’s training group, comprised of 30 players, for the upcoming West Indies series. 

According to the details, the training group will undergo the ‘behind-closed-doors’ training camp from June 23. England is scheduled to play the first Test of three-matches series against West Indies from July 8.

The group, along with a separate red-ball management team, will live, prepare and train on-site at the Ageas Bowl. On Wednesday, July 1 the players will participate in a three-day practice match. After this match, the squad for the first Test will be selected.

England’s selector Ed Smith is happy to see cricket returning amid COVID-19 pandemic.  “Everyone involved with England is delighted that cricket is returning soon and that the players are reporting for group training in preparation for the Test series against the West Indies,” he said. “We’d also like to thank all the county coaches who have supported these players over the past few weeks,” he added.
