Pakistan’s pace sensation, Mohammad Amir is set to make an appearance in county cricket for Essex in the latter part of 2017.
Mohammad Amir has agreed to join Essex. He will play county championship as well as the T20 Blast. The young left-arm pacer seems to be quite excited for the stint.
“I am very excited about becoming part of the Essex family. Chris Silverwood and Ronnie Irani have both been very supportive over the summer. I’m hoping I can carry on Essex’s success this season and achieve more for the club in 2017,” said Amir.
On the other hand, Essex’s coach, Chris Silverwood is looking forward to work with the speedster.
“We are thrilled that Mohammad has decided to join us for half of the 2017 campaign. He showed a real desire to be a part of the Club and the fact we have him for two competitions is a real bonus.
“He is still only young but has proved himself at International level already, so it is a real coup to get this signing completed,” he stated.
Mohammad Amir has featured Pakistan in 20 test matches, 24 One Day Internationals and 31 T20 internationals. He has bagged 69 wickets in the longest format of the game, whereas, he has taken 37 and 34 wickets in ODIs and T20Is respectively.
