Cricketer Mohammad Irfan is expected to leave Pakistan’s One-Day International (ODI) squad in Australia and fly back home following the death of his mother, ESPNcricinfo reported on Monday.
“Irfan is set to leave the Pakistan ODI squad in Australia and fly back home following the death of his mother,” a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesperson told the webzine.
The 34-year-old Irfan last played for Pakistan during the England series in September 2016.
According to ARY News, Pakistan team management has not decided on Irfan’s replacement as of yet, but a decision in this regard is expected to be made soon.
After suffering a humiliating 3-0 defeat in Tests, Pakistan face Australia in the first of five ODIs on Friday (January 13).
The other matches will be played in Melbourne (January 15), Perth (January 19), Sydney (January 22) and Adelaide (January 26).
