Karachi: PCB unanimously agrees to appoint Mohsin Hasan Khan as chief selector while Aqib Javed is being considered favorite for the position of coach.

According to details PCB has mentally decided to take some big decisions before receiving the committee’s report however its announcement will be made now. Sources revealed that during a press conference on Friday in Lahore the chairman Shahryar Khan would announce the sacking of coach, captain and the selection committee.

The board has unanimously decided to appoint former test batsman Mohsin Hasan Khan as the chief selector who had enjoyed this position earlier also. He has already spoken to Shahryar Khan on this assignment. Waqar Younus would be given an early release with 3 months advance salary amounting to a total of approximately 5 million rupees. Former test pacer Aqib Javed remains favorite for the coach position.

Aqib is nowadays attached to the UAE team but has been unable to uplift their performance. He has remained a bowling coach for Pakistan in the past and this would be his first chance as a chief coach. Sarfaraz Ahmad would replace Shahid Khan Afridi as a T20 captain.

The decision to consider all rounder Shahid Afridi as a player will be done by the new selection committee. Intikhab Alam would succeed in saving his position as the fact finding committee didn’t find any disciplinary issues during the tour therefore it would be unfair asking him to quit. He is already handling administrative issues comfortably which goes in his favor.
