The sixth franchise of Pakistan Super League, Multan Sultans picked three star cricketers of Karachi Kings in their first nine picks.
Former skipper Shoaib Malik and West-indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard joined Sultans in platinum category, whereas legend Kumar Sangakkara is in diamond category. The three big players were previously associated with Karachi Kings.
Shoaib Malik is likely to lead Multan Sultans in the third edition of PSL.
Multan Sultans director Wasim Akram shared his views on the addition of Kumar Sangakkara to the franchise.
“Kumar is a master class, and over the time he has outshined as one of the most consistent T20 players, be it his blistering strokes or splendid glove work behind the stumps, he has contributed amazingly to the T20 format across the globe,” said Wasim Akram.
The Pre-draft selection of the new franchise includes Sohail Tanvir in the diamond category while the gold category features the lethal pacers Mohammad Irfan and Junaid Khan.
The Silver category features young spinner Irfan Khan, all-rounder Kashif Bhatti and middle-order batsman Sohaib Maqsood.
