KOLKATA: Mumbai Indians (MI) clinched their second Indian Premier League crown as they defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the final of the 2015 edition of the tournament, ARYSports.tv reports.
CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and put his side to field first.
Mumbai Indians scored 202 in their 20 overs as Lendl Simmons scored 68 runs from 45 balls which included eight boundaries and three sixes while captain Rohit Sharma made 50 runs with six four and two sixes to his name.
Kieron Pollard and Ambati Rayudu made 36 runs each for the Indians.
Dwayne Bravo took two wickets for Chennai while Mohit Sharma and Dwayne Smith got one wicket each.
Chennai managed to put up 161/8 in their 20 overs with Dwayne Smith scoring 57 runs of 48 deliveries and Suresh Raina made 28 runs for the side.
MI bowler Mitchell McClenaghan took three wickets while Harbhajan Singh and Lasith Malinga grabbed two wickets each. Vinay Kumar dismissed one batsmen.
Rohit Sharma was named Man of the Match in the IPL 2015 final.
