The matador from Spain and 14 time Gran Slam champion Rafael Nadal has been struggling for form off late and for the first time since 2004 he failed to win a grand slam title in a year. Since suffering from constant injuries Rafa has not been able to make a comeback which he so often did even after injuries but this time this is not the case.
He is currently ranked number 7 in ATP ranking which clearly depicts a difficult phase for the great champion. He was talking to Sky sports recently in a interview where he said that
“I don’t know if I can win another Grand Slam. I believe yes. I don’t know if I’m going to do it … but I can do it.”
This was a pretty unsure statement from the Spaniard and points towards the fact that he still low on confidence.
ATP world tour finals are fast approaching and if Rafa has to make an impact there he has to quickly figure out a way to counter all these difficulties and bring out his A game.
Rafa is leveled with Pete Sampras on the list of most singles grand slams and is 3 titles behind the maestro Roger Federer who has 17 grand slam titles.
