Nadal, Murray start Miami Open campaign with straight set wins


MIAMI: Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray got off to flying starts in the Miami Open with straight set victories, reports.

Nadal cruised past Nicolas Almagro 6-4 6-2 in 89 minutes in windy conditions to start his campaign to clinch the Miami tournament where he has lost in the final three times.

On the other hand, Murray had no problems dealing with American Donald Young in his opening match as he won 6-4 6-2. He broke Young four times as won the match in just 82 minutes.

He will face Santiago Giraldo who defeated Robin Haase 6-2 3-6 6-0.

Tomas Berdych defeated Chung Hyeon 6-3 6-4 will play Bernard Tomic who defeated Austin Krajicek 7-6(6) 7-5. Kevin Anderson made a comeback against Sam Querrey to win the match 6-7(5) 7-6(3) 6-4.

Querrey was serving for the match at 6-5 in the second set, but could not clinch the game. He then dropped serve at the start of the third as Anderson fought back.

Novak Djokovic will start his Miami Open campaign against Marin Klizan on Saturday.
