The King of Clay Rafael Nadal has reached the quarterfinal of the Rio Open after he defeated fellow countryman Nicolas Almagro in the second round of the tournament by 6-3 and 7-5. He will face A. Dolgopolov of Ukrain in the quarterfinal for a place in the tournament’s semifinal.
After the match Nadal said that he is relaxed because of this win as it will boost his confidence. He was knocked out in the semifinal in Buenos Aires but Nadal believes that he is feeling better ‘physically’ and is pumped up to win this tournament.
In other quarterfinals David Ferrer will face Dominic Thiem while Pablo Cuevas will face the challenge of Federico Delbonis. Daniel Gimeno-Trevor will come up against Guido Pella. All matches will be played on the 19th of February.
The final of the tournament will be played on the 21st of February.
