International cricket in Karachi
Najam Sethi told the press conference that his next target is to bring back international cricket in the grounds of Karachi.
“The next challenge for me is to host an international match in Karachi,” he stated. “People from media and other fields are calling me (for holding a game in Karachi) and it is my next objective,” he added.
He told that international players and security experts are not ready for any international cricket in Karachi. Sethi is aiming to host a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match in the city.
“We have to hold a PSL match there, once it is done, the door for international cricket will open in Karachi as well,” he stated.
He also hoped that during the next season of PSL, franchises will play in Pakistan with their complete firepower, unlike Quetta Gladiators, who missed their key international names during the final PSL 2017.
“We will put a clause in players’ contract that they have to play matches scheduled in Pakistan, so they will have to sign on that,” he concluded.
