West Indies off spinner Sunil Narine has been reported for suspect bowling action after the third ODI versus Sri Lanka at Pallekele. After the match the officials raised concerns regarding Narine’s action and the team management was informed about this matter.
Narine will now have to undergo testing of his action inside 14 days but will be allowed to bowl until the reports come out. It should be noted that this is the first time the off spinners is reported for suspect action in international cricket after having being reported twice in domestic events IPL and CLT20 in India. He was bowling really well in the ODI series vs Sri Lanka as he took 4 wickets at an average of 18 whilst conceding very few runs.
It is important to note here that Pakistan’s off spinner Saeed Ajmal and Hafeez were also reported for suspect bowling action and were asked to remodel their action which reduced their effectiveness and also Hafeez is currently banned from bowling in international cricket for an year.
