Naseem Shah registers new world record in Test cricket

Rawalpindi: Young Pakistani pacer, Naseem Shah has registered a new world record in the history of Test cricket as he became the youngest bowler to take a hat-trick against Bangladesh in Pindi Cricket Stadium.

The 16-year-old in the 41st over of Bangladesh’s second innings struck thrice. Naseem’s first victim was Nazmul Hossain, the second was the night watchman Taijul Islam and the third was Tiger’s T20I  skipper Mahmudullah.

Nazmul was unlucky as Pakistan decided to go for a review after a huge LBW appeal and got the better of him. Taijul also departed due to another LBW dismissal. Mahmudullah went to play a full delivery which nicked down at slip to Haris Sohail and Naseem completed his hat-trick.

Previously, the record was with Pakistan all-rounder legend Abdul Razzaq who pick a hat-trick at the age of 20. Naseem is only the fifth Pakistani pacer to take a hat-trick in Test cricket.

Former Pakistan skipper Wasim Akram has claimed two whereas Razzaq and Mohammad Sami have picked one hat-trick for Pakistan in the elite format of the game.
