Naseem Shah misses his mother on match-winning performance

The young rising pacer of Pakistan missed his mother a lot when he showcased the match-winning performance for Pakistan in the historic second Test against Sri Lanka at National Stadium Karachi.

Shah, 16, lost his mother last month when he was with the team in Australia to play two Tests series. He has now become the second-youngest bowler and youngest pacer to bag five-wicket haul in Test cricket.

He is just 16 years and 307 days old when he achieved this landmark and pulled the attraction of cricket pundits. Shah took two quick wickets on Day 5 of the contest to complete his maiden five-fer.

In a presser after the match, Shah got emotional while talking about his mother and dedicated his achievement to his parents. “I wanted to dedicate this laurel to my mother and that she should watch me playing on television. However, I dedicate this to my father,” he told reporters.

“My mother didn’t know much about cricket. I spent most of my time in Lahore while playing cricket. She just used to ask me about match results and always prayed for me,” the young cricket added.
