Naseem Shah starts his rehab at High-Performance Center

Lahore: The 17-year-old Naseem Shah has started his rehabilitation program at the National High-Performance Center (NHPC) after getting injured during the Multan leg of the recently concluded National T20 Cup.

The pacer complained of a niggle in the groin and was subsequently withdrawn from the remaining part of the tournament by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as they think he should be handled with care. He was representing Central Punjab and had played two games.

Pakistan men’s team head coach Misbah-ul-Haq also gave an update regarding his fitness while announcing the squad for the Zimbabwe series.

He looked optimistic about his selection for the series against New Zealand. “Currently, I am not in a position to give you an update regarding him,” said Misbah.

“Team physio and doctors are working on him but we have not been updated about a timeline of his possible return. I am confident that he will return for New Zealand tour” he added.
