Naseem Shah’s inclusion in U-19 World cup still uncertain

Fast bowler Naseem Shah’s participation in the Under-19 World Cup 2020 in South Africa has become a question mark. Head coach junior team Ijaz Ahmed wants Naseem for the competition while senior team management is not ready to release him.

According to details, there is a rift between senior and junior team management on the matter of releasing fast bowler.

The 16-year-old participation in the Under-19 World Cup is still uncertain as Naseem Shah’s name for the mega event is included and Ijaz Ahmed has also termed him as a need for the side.

“If Bangladesh Test series is not happening, I definitely need Naseem Shah in the squad for the World Cup,” Ijaz Ahmed, head coach of the Under-19 team, said. ” He is very important because he was our first choice not because of that he had just played Test cricket,” He added.

For this, he has also requested senior team head coach and chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq to release Naseem but if it is not possible he have bowlers in mind who can replace him.

“I had requested Misbah and he too knows the importance of the World cup but if it’s not possible to release Naseem, I have thought of two fast bowlers who have been training with me for the last 25 days,” he added.

It must be noted that Pakistan have to host Bangladesh for the T20 and Test series and at the same time, the under-19 world cup will be underway too.
