The Shaheed Benazir Bhutto National gymnastic championship for men and women commenced at the Sindh University, Jamshoro on Friday.
The tournament which features a total of 500 gymnasts from across the country was officially inaugurated by renowned social worker Babar Keerio who appreciated Sindh Gymnastic Association (SGA) for organizing such a fruitful event for the young gymnasts of the country.
Keerio on the occasion said that organizing such events will pave the way for young athletes to push their skills forward and to represent Pakistan at International level.
“I would like to appreciate SGA for organizing this event which will help gymnasts to showcase their talent,” he said.
The president, Hyderabad Olympic sports committee, Khurram Rafique Siddiqui, Irshad Ali (District sports officer), Mustaqeem Ansari and Mariam Keerio (Organizing secretary tournament), Painda Malik (secretary Pakistan Gymnastic Federation) and Ahmed Ali Rajpoot (President SGA) were also present on the occasion.
The president SGA, Ahmed Rajpoot on the occasion said that he is overwhelmed to see huge support for gymnastics in Jamshoro.
He thanked the organizers for staging such a wonderful three-day tournament in a city where the athletes will be facilitated by international facilities.
