New year’s sun will prove to be ray of hope for Pakistan Hockey: Asif Bajwa

Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) secretary Olympian Asif Bajwa thinks that the New year’s sun will prove to be a ray of hope for Pakistan Hockey.

While talking to the media at the press conference secretary PHF announced that Dhaka in Bangladesh will host the Junior Asia Cup.

“Dhaka will host the Junior Asia Cup, The tournamnet will also be the qualifying round of the Junior World Cup,” He said.

He also announced the camp date and the number of players participating. ” The camp will commence from January 12 in Lahore for two weeks with 54 players participating,” Bajwa added.

“Danish Kalim will be the Head Coach, Mohammad Imran, Mudassar Khan, and Rana Zaheer will be Assistant Coaches. Abid Amin will be the team’s physio and nutritionist,” he concluded.

It should be noted that last year proved to be disappointing for Pakistan hockey, where the national team lost matches, the Netherlands also defeated Pakistan hockey team and the dream of going to the Tokyo Olympics got diminished.

The Pakistani hockey team that have won the gold medal three times was out of the Olympics for the second time in a row.
