Pakistan’s prolific all-rounder, Nida Dar smashed the second fastest half-century in women’s T20I cricket against on just 20 balls with the help of eight 4’s and three 6’s, which took Pakistan to a handsome total of 172 runs.
Pakistan lost their openers early in the inning, but the skipper Bismah Maroof and Nida provided the support with run-a-ball 37 runs and 37-ball 75 runs respectively. While Aliya Riaz provided the perfect finishing touch with 35 runs off 17 balls.
With a total of 172 runs on the board, Pakistan were looking comfortable of sealing the series by 3-1, however, South Africa fought back strongly and countered Pakistan’s competent bowling attack.
Pakistan managed to get their first wicket for 74 runs in the eighth over, but by then the opener Lizelle Lee had done her job with 60 runs off just 31 deliveries. The rest of the South African batters contributed enough to take their surpass the big total of 172 runs.
Fatima Sana remained the pick of the bowler for the Women in Green with three wickets to her name for 27 runs in three overs. Whereas, Aliya Riaz, Nida Dar and Kainat Imtiaz picked one wicket each.
The five-match T20I series is currently balanced at 2-2.
