‘No Point In Resigning’ says Shahryar Khan

Lahore: PCB Chairman Shahryar Khan sticks to his guns says I have no intention to resign. I have sent Waqar’s report to the fact finding committee, action will be taken against those responsible upon receiving the committee’s advice.

According to details after a shameful collapse during the Asia cup and the World Twenty, nobody seems willing to accept responsibility for this big disaster. The coach and the captain had indicated to resign while in India but afterwards took a u-turn by giving statements that they would do so in front of their people.

Now the chairman Shahryar Khan has also made it clear that he has no intentions vacating his position. He mentioned this a few days back while speaking to the media at Gaddafi stadium Lahore. He said Waqar’s report is already with the fact finding committee and action would be taken as recommended. According to sources the coach has made the selection team and the captain responsible for this defeat but the chairman refrained from giving his views on his issue.

He said the fact finding committee is doing its own job and are finding facts for the team’s poor performance during the Asia cup and World Twenty. As long as the report doesn’t arrive it would be inappropriate to take any action. It may be noted that its during Shahryar Khan and Najam Sethi’s tenure that Pakistan team was pinned to the first round during the 2015 World Cup, they had to face an embarrassing clean sweep in Bangladesh for the first time, England defeated them in the series and they lost their ranking in OD’s and T20’s dropping to the 8th position. After all this disaster who is to be blamed as no one is ready to accept the responsibility.
