Pakistan’s chief selector, Inzamam-ul-Haq is confident about his young side`s chances of defeating England and Ireland in the coming Tests. He is confident that his side would defeat their oppositions on their home soil.
“Our team is quite capable of winning the Test series against England and the one-off Test against Ireland,” Inzamam said while talking to reporters.
Asking about his thoughts on Imam’s impressive batting display in swinging conditions against Kent, he said, “I am pleased whenever any batsman performs well,” said Inzamam,
“We review the performance of all the players,” he added.
Inzamam refused to comment when asked about fast bowler Mohammad Asif, who remains out of the team after getting convicted for spot-fixing and serving his five-year ban.
“I do not rule out the return of Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif. However, having said this, our focus is on youngsters as we are looking at the future,” he said.
The chief selector also denied the impression that the pool of players in his tenure had been reduced.
