The continuity of international cricket in Pakistan is a positive sign for Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on financial grounds, Director Commercial PCB Babar Hamid said.
While talking to the media, Hamid said PCB will get financial benefits by hosting back-to-back international events. “After Sri Lanka, Bangladesh is coming and then the whole PSL is happening in Pakistan which means that PCB will collect financial perks,” he said.
Talking about the Bangladesh tour, Hamid said that Bangladesh Cricket Board (PCB) took a lot of time in confirming the tour which caused huge problems to rope in sponsors. “It becomes difficult when such situations take place. It was challenging for us to arrange sponsors on short notice,” he maintained.
It must be noted here that Bangladesh’s tour to Pakistan is split into three different phases. Bangladesh, in first phase, will play three T20I on January 24, 25 and 27. They will come back to play a Test of two matches series in Rawalpindi from February 7-11. After the conclusion of the PSL, Bangladesh will visit Karachi to play one-off ODI on April 3 and the second Test from 5-9 April.
