Pakistan ambitious to include additional elite names in PSL

Karachi: Pakistan is trying to include further elite names in PSL. The event’s pro-active member Najam Sethi says “I’ll personally talk to the entire Board to release its players for our event as they are satisfied with the anti-corruption measures adopted by us for the first edition.”

According to details at the first place many of the foreign players were unable to take part in our event except a few who could make it. This year we have already started taking steps to ensure inclusion of prominent names in our event for the second edition next year. Najam Sethi while expressing his views said, “We didn’t get time in the first event but now I will talk to all the Board officials personally that we are ready to offer our players for your events and expect the same from your side. I am sure we’ll get a positive response.”

Replying to a question he said, “Corruption started from the very beginning in IPL, therefore before the start of PSL we had a meeting with all the franchisers and had made it clear that we need to be extra careful because a slight mistake could ruin the whole league. I am glad there was no major conflict during the entire event. We had also acquired the services of ICC anti corruption and security unit officials and had spent a huge amount resulting in a successful end of the event.”

Najam Sethi further said “For the time being we don’t need any anti corruption official for PSL, our officials are working equally well and I hope this to continue further. He said due to MCL in the first edition some players like Sangakkara were unable to participate, but now such things won’t happen. Some of the franchisers had complained of not having a break between matches, therefore this time the competition will be stretched to 28-29 days.”
