Pakistan Athletics Federation aims to host Asian event


Lahore: The Pakistan Athletics Federation (PAF) contacted the government with an aim to host the upcoming Asian Athletics Championship. 

According to Major General (Retd) Mohammad Akram Sahi – PAF’s president, they have briefed Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC), Dr. Fehmida Mirza, on their plan to host the Asian event which will be a booster for the country’s athletics circuit.

The decision to propose PAF’s plan to government was taken after Pakistan Sports Board (PSB)’s Executive Board meeting.

“We have approached government as we aim to host the Asian Athletics Championship. If we get their approval, we will submit our application in Asian Athletics Federation to host the upcoming mega event,” Sahi said.

“Athletes from across Asia will particpate in the event so it will be a booster for us and our players,” he added.
