Pakistan, Bangladesh Khulna Test ends in draw

KHULNA: The high scoring Khulna test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh ended in a draw on Saturday, ARYSports. tv reports.

Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first in the match.

The home side managed 332 in the first innings. Mominul Haque scored 80 runs while opener Imrul Kayes scored 51 runs in the innings.

Mahmudullah scored 49 runs for his side and Soumya Sarkar made 33 runs for the home side.

Wahab Riaz and Yasir Shah grabbed three wickets while Mohammad Hafeez and Zulfiqar Babar dismissed two batsmen each.

In reply, Pakistan scored 628 runs thanks to a double century by opener Hafeez and fifties by Azhar Ali, captain Misbah-ul-Haq, Asad Shafiq and Sarfraz Ahmed.

Hafeez scored 224 runs while Azhar made 83 runs. Misbah scored 59 runs, Asad Shafiq 83 and Sarfraz Ahmed made 82 runs.

Spinner Taijul Islam grabbed six wickets in the innings while Shuvagta hom took two wickets. Mohammad Shahid and Shakib al Hasan shared two wickets each.

Bangladeshi side scored 555/6 in their second innings with Tamim Iqbal scoring a double ton while Imrul Kayes scored a 150 for his team.

Iqbal was dismissed after making 206 while Kayes was back in the pavilion after making 150 for his team.

Shakib contribute 76 for his team.

Pacer Junaid Khan and Hafeez took two wickets while Asad Shafiq and Zulfiqar Babar also grabbed one wicket each.

Tamim Iqbal was named the Ma of the match.

The two match series is level at 0-0. The second test will be played at Dhaka from 6th to 10th May.
