DUBAI: Pakistan had a quiet start as they were 3/0 in two overs. However, Fakhar Zaman looked to up the scoring rate and struck two boundaries in the third over. But, Lahiru Gamage got the better off the left-hander and managed to get an outside edge from him. He scored 11 runs off 13 deliveries.
Two overs later, a struggling Ahmed Shehzad, looked to get a boundary but only managed to find the point fielder who took a comfortable catch after scoring 8 (17).
The third loss for Pakistan when Mohammad Hafeez gets out on the next ball after hitting a straight six off Gamage.
He scored only 8 runs off 11 deliveries.
Pakistan lost it’s fourth wicket when Malik departs after a promising start! The visitors continue to chip away at the wickets.
Malik scored 11 off (15).
The fifth wicket, Perera sent the skipper back to pavilion. Sri Lanka right on top, continuing their domination.
Sarfraz scored 5 off (14).
Pakistan lost Imad Wasim as their sixth wicket when Vandersay comes into the attack and he plucks a wicket.
Imad scored 10 off (26).
Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and opted to bat in the second day-night international against Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi on Monday.
Both teams kept the same sides which featured in the first match that Pakistan won in Dubai by 83 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
The remaining matches will be held in Abu Dhabi (October 18) and in Sharjah (October 20 and 23).
Three Twenty20 internationals will follow the ODIs, the last in Lahore on October 29.
