Pakistan beat India, storms into West Asia Baseball Cup final

Pakistan trounced India in the semi-finals of 14th West Asia Baseball Cup in Colombo, on Thursday. The green shirts will now meet the defending champions Sri Lanka in the final on Sunday.

According to Pakistan Federation Baseball (PFB), Pakistan claimed the victory against arch-rivals by 13-2 in the second semi-final, while the hosts and defending champions Sri Lanka beat Iran by 10-2 to storm into the final.

The third place playoffs will be played today (Friday).

The boys in green managed to score 2 runs in the first innings, which put India under immense pressure. In next six innings, Pakistan scored 11 more runs to take their tally to 13. In the 7th innings, India scored only 2 runs.

The captain of Pakistan team Hafiz Mohammad Usman said that victory against India is a gift to the nation.

“The team played great baseball against India and gave a gift to the nation. We will try to defeat Sri Lanka in the final,” he said.
