Pakistan U19 beat Kuwait U19 by 163 runs in their last group match in ACC Under-19 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka on Monday.
An all-round performance by the green shirts saw them winning their last game as they are already out of the tournament due to losing their first two match against Afghanistan and India.
Pakistan posted a mammoth 335 runs total on the scoreboard after they won the toss and decided to bat first. Openers Haider Ali and Mohammad Basit Ali provided a decent start to the team by scoring 40 runs together.
Later on, Haris Khan and Irfan Khan scored 53 and 63 runs respectively to strengthen the score of Pakistan. Captain Rohail Nazir also contributed worthy 34 runs to the team’s total.
Mohammad Wasim remained not out for 55 runs and played some solid shots, in the end, to finish the innings on high. He struck six maximums and two boundaries.
Jandu Hamoud bagged four wickets for Kuwait while Abdul Sadiq took three wickets.
In reply, Kuwait fell for just 172 runs crediting the aggressive spells by Pakistani bowlers. Qasim Akram shined with the bowl as he took four wickets while Mohammad Wasim bagged three wickets.
The skipper of Kuwait was the prominent scorer with 60 runs for his team. Govind Kumar scored 45 runs.
