Pakistan beat Nepal 2-1 in SAFF Cup opener


Pakistan football team started their SAFF cup campaign on a winning note after beating Nepal 2-1 in their first match on Tuesday.

Pakistan came out aggressively with counter attacking on the opponents which already had put their counterparts under pressure.

Hassan Bashir with his splendid strike on 39th minute took 1-0 lead for Pakistan.

Nepal thereafter fought hard to score an equalizer which came for them in the last few minutes when their striker Bhimal struck the ball into the nets.

The match then entered in an exciting mode but it didn’t last long as Mohammad Ali scored the second goal to seal the victory for Pakistan.

The Head coach, Joze Noguiera after the match credited the boys for their blistering performance on the field to make sure that they are getting improved.

He said that for a couple times in the end, game entered into the pressure moment but somehow they managed to double the lead.

“When Nepal scored it caused disturbance in our camp but at last the result turned in Pakistan’s favor,”
