Pakistan has been changed now, everything is fine here: Simon Taufel


Karachi: Former Australian umpire Simon Taufel has now a changed perception about Pakistan after witnessing a historic opening ceremony at National Stadium and knowing the fact that the entire edition of the league will be played in the country.

He told media that he decided to tour Pakistan once again with mixed emotions and feelings but the cricket atmosphere has highly impressed him. “I came here with a lot of mixed emotions and feelings but I have really enjoyed the opening ceremony here in Karachi and looking forward to a successful PSL in Pakistan,” he said.

One of the successful umpires of the world was highly impressed with the hospitality provided to him since his arrival in Karachi. “We have been looked after quite nicely here so far. The security is amazing and I must say Pakistan has been changed now in the past few years,” he maintained.

Upon being asked, Taufel said that international cricket at home is very important to give a chance to youngsters to watch their heroes live. “It gives immense confidence to youngsters when they watch their heroes play in front of them. I hope international cricket continues in Pakistan and people come across more big events like this,” he concluded.
